MOISTURE CONTENT - GB/T 17657-1999 (4.3) (adapted)
1. TOOLS
1.1 Balance accurate to 0.01 g
1.2 Equipment for drying wood, ensuring free internal circulation of air and capable of maintaining a temperature of 103 (+/-2) ° C
2. SAMPLING
We cut three 400x400 mm mother samples from 1 sheet

We then cut one 100x100 mm final sample from each 400x400 mm mother sample and get three 100x100 mm final samples for testing

Samples shall be free from resin wood and features such as bark, knots and resin pockets
3. TESTING PROCEDURE
3.1 Weigh samples (W0)

3.2 Oven-dry samples for 6 hours at 103 (+/-2) ° C

3.3 Record samples’ weight (W1)

3.4 Repeat steps 3.2-3.3 until the difference in mass between 2 successive weighings (WF and WF-1) separated by an interval of 2 hours is less than 0.1%
3.5 Weigh the samples (WF)
3.6 Moisture Content (%) = ((W0 – WF)/WF)*100
4. ASSESSING TEST RESULTS
